Compensation: $125 to $175 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead financial oversight across multiple entities within our organization in Santa Maria, California. This position is responsible for maintaining reliable financial reporting, strengthening accounting operations, and supporting planning efforts that guide sound business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep accounting knowledge, and the ability to connect financial strategy with broader organizational objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the month-end close cycle and deliver accurate financial results within established reporting deadlines.
• Prepare and distribute periodic financial statements and related reporting packages for leadership review.
• Partner with management to develop annual budgets, monitor performance against plan, and update forecasts as business needs change.
• Establish, refine, and monitor internal controls to protect the integrity of financial reporting and accounting processes.
• Coordinate audit activities with external reviewers and support the preparation of materials needed for tax-related filings.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to accounting team members, setting priorities and ensuring high-quality work across core functions.
• Oversee divisional accounting activities, including financial analysis, compliance support, and budgeting performance.
• Contribute financial insight that helps align departmental decisions with the company’s overall goals.
• Support treasury-related activities and assist with cash management responsibilities as needed.
• Participate in finance-related system enhancement initiatives, including organizational software upgrade efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
• Prior supervisory experience with responsibility for guiding and developing accounting staff.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and analytical review.
• Experience working with large-scale ERP platforms, including NetSuite, along with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with month-end close procedures, US GAAP, and core accounting functions such as accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

Compensation

$125,000.00-$175,000.00 Yearly
