Medical Billing Soecialist
Specialized client in the Northern Delaware area is looking to hire a Medical Billing Specialist with expertise in billing regulations, payer requirements, and behavioral health reimbursements. As the Medical Billing Specialist, you will oversee medical billing, verify medical insurance coverage, code medical procedures and diagnoses, prepare insurance claims, prepare patient statements and invoices, post payments, track outstanding receivables, maintain billing records, and stay abreast of coding changes and compliance regulations. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly.
What you get to do everyday
· Process medical billing and invoicing accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with payer and healthcare regulations.
· Prepare, review, and submit insurance claims and patient invoices in a timely manner.
· Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to maximize collections.
· Post payments, reconcile billing discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
· Verify patient insurance information and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
· Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal staff to resolve billing inquiries and payment issues.
· Maintain organized billing records and assist with reporting as needed.
· Provide general administrative support related to billing operations, including filing, document management, and data entry.
Qualifications:
The ideal Medical Billing Specialist will preferably have a Associates/Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
Other requirements for the Medical Billing Specialist role include and are not limited to:
· 3+ years of billing, invoicing, administrative experience
· Healthcare experience a plus, not required
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
· Epic or similar software experience preferred
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
