Buyer

Our client in Cromwell, Connecticut is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a purchasing professional with experience supporting procurement activities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials, supplies, or services. The right candidate will be organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage purchasing activities for assigned materials, supplies, or services
• Review purchase requisitions and create purchase orders accurately and efficiently
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, delivery timelines, and order status
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing needs with internal teams
• Track open orders and help resolve delivery, quality, or invoicing issues
• Support cost savings initiatives and supplier performance management
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
• Ensure purchasing activities align with company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain support
• Experience creating purchase orders and working with vendors and suppliers
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; ERP or purchasing system experience preferred
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred
