Staff Accountant
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a collaborative accounting team supporting multiple client accounts. This position is ideal for an detail oriented accountant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and partnering with internal teams to deliver high-quality financial reporting and client service.
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in month-end close activities, reconciliations, accounts receivable processing, financial reporting, and cash management while helping identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Process cash receipts and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Prepare and process customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable activity.
- Monitor daily cash balances and assist with cash management functions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Assist with internal financial reporting and special projects as needed.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure timely billing, collections, and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and system efficiencies.
- Support additional accounting and operational initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3+ years of accounting experience, including exposure to reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles.
- Experience with accounts receivable, cash applications, and bank reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to process improvement and client service.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Compensation
