Cybersecurity Analyst

Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a Cybersecurity Analyst (contract). In this role, you will help protect and strengthen the security posture of a complex enterprise environment. This role is responsible for monitoring security events, investigating potential threats, supporting incident response activities, and implementing security controls to safeguard systems, networks, and data. This role is hybrid in Austin, Tx. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor systems, networks, and security tools for potential threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity.
• Investigate security events and incidents, performing analysis to determine impact, root cause, and remediation requirements.
• Participate in incident response efforts and support containment, recovery, and post-incident review activities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security controls, monitoring processes, and threat detection capabilities.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability reviews, recommending corrective actions to reduce risk.
• Research, evaluate, and support the implementation of new security technologies and solutions.
• Maintain security documentation, procedures, standards, and response playbooks.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of cybersecurity, information security, security operations, or related IT security experience.
• Experience with security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, or security compliance initiatives.
• Knowledge of security technologies, operating systems, network security principles, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in enterprise environments with a focus on securing critical business systems and data.
• Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, GIAC, CEH, or similar credentials are preferred.
• Experience mentoring entry level team members or supporting cross-functional security initiatives is a plus.
