Civil Litigation Paralegal

About the Opportunity

A well-established plaintiff-side civil litigation firm in Salinas is seeking a Temporary Civil Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling personal injury, tort, elder abuse, and product liability matters. This role is covering business needs and will have the potential to be extended.

The ideal candidate will have strong civil litigation experience and be comfortable managing cases from intake through trial preparation while working directly with attorneys and clients.

Responsibilities

• Support one to two attorneys with active litigation caseloads
• Conduct client intake and maintain regular communication with clients
• Manage court calendars and litigation deadlines
• Prepare and organize pleadings, discovery, and exhibits
• Draft and respond to interrogatories and discovery requests
• Request, review, and track medical records and case-related documents
• Coordinate case files and maintain accurate litigation records
• Prepare correspondence, form letters, and case updates
• Work with attorneys, legal secretaries, and billing staff on case administration

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of civil litigation paralegal experience
• Experience in personal injury, tort, elder abuse, product liability, or related litigation matters
• Knowledge of California court procedures and deadlines
• Experience handling discovery and trial preparation
• Strong client service and communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Reliable with a proven ability to manage competing priorities
