The Office of University Communications and Marketing Photographer provides professional images of faculty, staff, administration and students for marketing and communications outreach at the University of Pittsburgh. Responsibilities will include capturing the full range of activities at the University; subjects include campus events and activities, studio portraiture, environmental portraiture, group photography, and a wide variety of campus/urban documentation. The ability to process and edit images using Adobe Creative Suite and other software as appropriate will be required. The photographic assignments associated with this part-time position may involve occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours. The hourly work week will range between 20-32.5 hours, depending on overall production and schedule.

Percentage of Time: 50

Responsibility/Duty: Create digital, photographic images that include campus events and activities, studio portraiture, environmental portraiture, group photography, and a wide variety of campus/urban documentation.

Performance Standard: Quality must meet or exceed the commercial/professional standard.

Contact with university partners must be professional.

Performance Standard: Proficiency in the use of digital image editing software is essential to produce work which meets or exceeds the commercial/professional standards. Communications must be clear, professional, accurate, and timely.


Associates degree in Photography or equivalent. At least one year experience in an educational, commercial, or general professional.

Online portfolio or PDF samples of work are required for consideration.
