Description

We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Network and Cloud Infrastructure Administrator to bridge our current hybrid environment and lead our transformation to a full Azure-native ecosystem.

Currently, our infrastructure spans on-premises data centers running a mix of Windows and Linux servers, connected to Microsoft Azure. Your primary mission will be to maintain high-performance hybrid connectivity while actively supporting the designing, migrating, and automating of our transition into a modern, secure, and fully Azure cloud-native infrastructure.

The selected applicant will be responsible for:

  • Azure Migration: Assist in the Architecture and execution of the technical roadmap to transition our hybrid on-premises infrastructure into an Azure-native environment.
  • Hybrid Network Management: Maintain, monitor, and optimize our hybrid network architecture, including ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site VPNs, and Azure Virtual WAN.
  • Cross-Platform Administration: Manage, secure, and troubleshoot network performance across both Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL) environments.
  • Network Equipment Management: Demonstrated experience managing, troubleshooting, and configuring Juniper and Cisco hardware to ensure high-performance network connectivity and reliability.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate the provisioning and management of Azure resources using Azure Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.
  • Cloud Security & Governance: Implement and maintain robust security boundaries using Azure Firewall, NSGs, Application Security Groups, and Private Endpoints. Configure IAM policies using Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Hybrid Resource Management: Leverage Azure Arc to manage, govern, and monitor on-premises assets during the cloud migration phase.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Set up proactive monitoring, packet captures, and flow logs using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Network Watcher.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in system/network administration, with at least 1+ years focused on Microsoft Azure cloud networking. Preferred experience with configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Cisco and Junos-based devices.
  • Cloud Networking Expertise: understanding of Azure VNets, subnets, peering, Azure Load Balancers, Application Gateways, and Azure Front Door.
  • Dual-OS Proficiency: hands-on experience administering both Windows Server and Linux distributions (enterprise networking, iptables, firewalls).
  • Automation/Scripting: Proficient in PowerShell and Bash scripting. Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) is highly desirable.
  • Identity & Security: Understanding of hybrid identity management (Azure AD Connect / Microsoft Entra ID) and zero-trust cloud network security frameworks.


Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Linux certifications (e.g., RHCSA, CompTIA Linux+) or equivalent experience.

Required Certifications

  • Hold and keep current a DoD 8140 IAT Level III certification, such as SecurityX (CASP+), CISSP, CCNP Security, CISA, GCED, GCIH, or CCSP.

Required Clearance:

  • An Interim DoD secret security clearance is required to start.
  • Applicant must be able to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance. Selected applicant may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary for this position will be $95,000 - $140,000 annually.
