Position Title: Senior Technical Team Lead
As a Technical Team Lead, you will provide hands-on technical leadership while actively contributing to the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise software applications. This role combines senior-level software engineering expertise with technical leadership responsibilities to guide development teams through the full software development lifecycle while ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
The Technical Team Lead serves as the primary technical resource for the development team, providing architectural guidance, mentoring developers, facilitating Agile delivery, and collaborating with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and program leadership to translate business requirements into technical solutions. This position requires a balance of technical depth, leadership, and collaboration while remaining actively involved in software development activities.
Our projects focus on delivering modern enterprise applications that support business processes, workflows, analytics, and reporting capabilities for federal customers using Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, and modern software engineering practices.
All applicants must reside in DC, Maryland, or Virginia and be able to work onsite in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities

Lead the technical design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of enterprise software applications while contributing hands-on to software development efforts.

Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to software developers through code reviews, design discussions, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Lead Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, technical task decomposition, and delivery execution.

Establish and promote software engineering best practices, secure coding standards, architectural consistency, and code quality across the development team.

Oversee application deployment, Azure cloud services, Azure DevOps pipelines, CI/CD processes, and production support activities.

Identify technical risks, recommend mitigation strategies, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Eight (8) or more years of professional experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise software applications, including experience leading technical teams or development initiatives.

Strong experience developing enterprise applications using C#/.NET, Java, modern JavaScript frameworks (React or Angular), RESTful APIs, and relational databases.

Hands-on experience developing, deploying, and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure, including experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and release management.

Experience leading Agile/Scrum software development teams and applying modern software engineering, DevSecOps, and secure coding practices.

Demonstrated ability to mentor developers, conduct code reviews, resolve technical challenges, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong analytical, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, or similar).

Experience designing cloud-native, scalable, and distributed application architectures.

Experience supporting federal government or other highly regulated environments.

Microsoft Azure, Scrum/Agile, or other relevant technical certifications.

Experience leading application modernization or cloud migration initiatives.
Clearance Requirement

Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
