Security Officer
About the Role:
The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of people, property, and information within various environments across the United States. This position involves vigilant monitoring of premises to prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches. The Security Officer will be responsible for enforcing access control policies, responding promptly to incidents, and communicating effectively with team members and emergency responders. By utilizing wireless technology and radio communication, the officer ensures seamless coordination and rapid response to any security concerns. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a security guard or in a related security role preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills, including familiarity with security software and access control systems preferred.
- Ability to operate wireless communication devices and radios effectively.
- Physical capability to climb stairs and perform repetitive motions during patrols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in security or law enforcement training.
- Experience with advanced access control technologies and surveillance systems.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Strong conflict resolution and emergency response skills.
- Previous experience working in a corporate or high-security environment.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to detect and deter suspicious activities or security threats.
- Operate access control systems to regulate entry and exit of personnel and visitors, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Utilize wireless communication devices and radios to maintain constant contact with security team members and report incidents promptly.
- Conduct regular inspections of premises, including climbing stairs and navigating various terrains, to identify potential hazards or breaches.
- Document and report all security incidents, observations, and irregularities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide clear and professional oral communication when interacting with employees, visitors, and emergency personnel.
- Perform repetitive motions as required during patrols and security checks while maintaining high levels of alertness and professionalism.
Skills:
The Security Officer will apply intermediate computer skills daily to operate security management software and access control systems, ensuring only authorized individuals gain entry.
