SUMMARY

The Accounting Clerk maintains financial records by performing tasks such as data entry, accounts payable processing, invoice tracking, and account reconciliations.

This role processes vendor invoices and resolves related changes and issues as they arise. The Accounting Clerk prepares weekly and ad hoc reports as needed and completes month-end duties, including journal entries and account analysis. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Distribute invoices to the appropriate department manager for approval.
  • Code invoices using appropriate cost center and general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure invoices are paid in accordance with vendor terms.
  • Research vendor and general ledger account activity.
  • Prepare month end journal entries.
  • Maintain various reports and spreadsheets using Excel.
  • Provide excellent customer service for any vendor requests and changes as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Perform various technical support duties such as information gathering, reporting, tracking, and researching.
  • Communicate to department managers concerning problems.
  • Cover customer orders one weekend every 6-8 weeks, rotating with rest of department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

            BASIC REQUIREMENTS

              • At least a High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or International Education Equivalent.
              • At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable.
              • At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, Power Point, Excel).
              • Experience with ERP software, SAP experience preferred.
