Description:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for performing advanced accounting activities, supporting month-end closes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records. This role works closely with Finance leadership to improve processes, support audits, and provide financial insights. The Senior Accountant also serves as a resource for junior team members and cross-functional departments.


Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

· Lead components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

· Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with GAAP.

· Manage and reconcile accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, and inventory-related entries.

· Prepare balance sheet schedules and research variances or discrepancies.

· Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate financial data and insights.

· Assist with accounting for payroll, including journal entries and reconciliations.

· Coordinate with internal and external auditors and prepare required documentation.

· Ensure compliance with state and local sales/use tax filings and other regulatory requirements.

· Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls.

· Assist with cost accounting functions where applicable (inventory, standard costing, variance analysis).

· Support cross-functional teams with financial analysis and reporting.

· Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.


Qualifications: 

Required:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

· 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.

· Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.

· Experience with financial reporting and month-end close.

· Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience preferred).

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred:

· CPA or working toward CPA certification.

· Experience in manufacturing or cost accounting.

· Experience with fixed assets, inventory accounting, and multi-entity environments.
