Overview
Machine Operator II is responsible for operating different types of equipment, preparing batches for the production line, completing required paperwork, and assisting with other tasks on the line. The position will be trained to perform various production line functions to include but not limited to: making dough, dicing cabbage, grinding meat, running the mixer, paperwork completion, and other various tasks.
Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties, responsibilities and activities are listed in no particular order and may be changed or updated at any time with or without notice.)
- Sets up, operates and tends the equipment such as mixers, dicers, or dough machine
- Includes assembling, weighing or measuring ingredients
- Constantly observes and analyzes to ensure conformance to quality standards
- Assist others by providing materials, completing paperwork, or assisting with other tasks.
- Accurately prepare and review required paperwork to include batch sheets, material returns, equipment inspection, downtime, weights, temperatures, and any other product requirements.
- Will notify maintenance team when equipment is not operating at peak performance
- Responsible for helping run the PT’s during slow periods and breaks
- Move product by using a forklift/palletjack
- Follows established equipment Lockout/Tagout procedures as required
- Scan, verify and log raw information and ingredients
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Employee Safety Responsibilities:
- Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and horseplay
- Use proper lifting techniques
- Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift)
- Use personal assistance (buddy)
- Use handrails
- Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Need to comply with Food Safety: GMP’S, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and Quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Prefer High School Diploma/GED
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work rapidly and with a high degree of accuracy
- Math Skills
- Reliable
- Self-driven
- Minimal Supervision
- Forklift/Palletjack Certification
- Read and write English

- Continuously required to stand and walk.
- Frequently lifting above shoulders, body bending, hand twisting, and fine motor of the fingers.
- Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to a distance of 10 feet.
- Regularly pull or push up to 300 pounds for a distance up to 6ft.
- Will be exposed to loud, industrial-type environments, commonly found at plants.
- Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold.
