Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting team in Richmond, VA, but are open to a remote working arrangement. This role supports technical accounting research, accounting policy application, and external reporting activities while collaborating with financial and operational partners across the organization. In this role, you'll gain exposure to sophisticated business transactions, SEC reporting processes, and technical accounting matters while building proficiency in applying accounting guidance to real-world business transactions.
What you will be doing:
- Supporting technical accounting analyses for business transactions, including researching accounting guidance, preparing supporting documentation, and helping develop well-supported accounting conclusions.
- Assisting with the preparation and review of assigned disclosures and footnotes for SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 11-K.
- Collaborating with team members, finance teams, business stakeholders, and external advisors to gather financial and business information, support accounting analyses, and help execute technical accounting and reporting deliverables for assigned workstreams.
- Supporting the team’s assessment of new accounting standards and regulatory developments, including research, implementation support, readiness activities, and consideration of impacts on financial reporting, disclosures, and internal controls.
- Driving a strong control environment through support of SOX compliance activities, disclosure controls, and other activities involved in our financial reporting processes.
- Preparing clear and concise accounting memoranda, technical analyses, and supporting work papers to facilitate effective review and decision-making.
- Using reporting systems, automation tools, and emerging technologies to enhance reporting accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
- Supporting the timely delivery of accurate external reporting through effective project management, organization, and attention to detail.
- Building productive relationships across finance and business functions to help address accounting and reporting matters.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen governance, streamline processes, and enhance reporting capabilities.
We want you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
- 4+ years of dynamic accounting experience, preferably including public accounting, technical accounting, SEC reporting, external reporting, or public-company financial reporting.
- Experience supporting SEC filings, financial reporting processes, accounting research, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, capable of researching, interpreting, and applying accounting guidance to business transactions.
- Exposure to SOX compliance, disclosure controls, or internal control activities related to financial reporting.
- Experience preparing accounting analyses, technical memoranda, and supporting documentation for complex accounting matters.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills paired with ability to evaluate issues, identify risks, and develop practical solutions.
- Ability to manage several priorities, achieve time-sensitive results, and perform efficiently in a fast-paced, environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with financial reporting and enterprise systems, including Workiva, Oracle FCCS, or similar platforms preferred.

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $91,500.00 - $132,750.00.
