Business Analyst - Financial Services
Responsibilities:
• Provide operational support across multiple desks based on business demand, building the flexibility to assist in different functional areas as priorities shift.
• Lead and contribute to intermediate-level business analysis assignments, including special projects, recurring reviews, and process-focused initiatives.
• Perform periodic quality control activities involving items such as fees, statements, and net change reporting to help maintain accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate annual operations audit activities by organizing information, tracking progress, and helping ensure timely completion of required deliverables.
• Serve as a link between operations stakeholders and technology teams by documenting business needs, supporting work plan coordination, and assisting with testing and issue tracking.
• Review operational and system-related patterns to identify risks, inefficiencies, or recurring problems, then present practical recommendations to management.
• Process departmental service and research requests while maintaining responsiveness and accuracy in follow-through.
• Partner with department leaders to evaluate workflows, uncover process gaps, and suggest enhancements that strengthen controls, training, and overall performance.
• Remain prepared to perform essential responsibilities remotely when business continuity needs require off-site support.
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years of experience within a broker-dealer, financial institution, or comparable financial services environment.• High school diploma required; additional education in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline is advantageous.
• Demonstrated business analysis capability, including experience reviewing workflows, documenting requirements, and supporting project execution.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends using Excel or similar tools.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with operations teams, managers, and technology partners.
• Strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume setting.
• Working knowledge of financial services practices and regulatory expectations; familiarity with FINRA-related environments is beneficial.
• Project management certification or prior project coordination experience is preferred, with willingness to pursue certification if needed.
Compensation
