Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a services team in Toledo, Ohio. This permanent, on-site position offers the opportunity to support core accounting functions while working closely with clients and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on accounting experience, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules to help ensure timely and reliable reporting.
• Manage general ledger activity by posting journal entries and reviewing account balances for accuracy.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Assist with tax-related work, including gathering documentation and supporting preparation processes.
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with applicable requirements.
• Support bookkeeping functions for client accounts and respond to routine financial inquiries with care.
• Analyze financial data to identify patterns, variances, and areas that may require follow-up or action.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, public accounting, or a similar area.
• Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals, financial statement preparation, and general ledger maintenance.
• Experience with journal entries, bank reconciliations, tax support, payroll processing, and bookkeeping responsibilities.
• Proficiency with accounting software, including QuickBooks, and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Toledo, Ohio.
• Authorization to work in the United States and eligibility to work in the U.S. now and in the future.
• Strong communication skills, strong organization, and close attention to detail.

Compensation

$45,000.00-$55,000.00 Yearly
