Accounting Assistant
We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support cash management operations within a higher education environment in Kendall, Florida. This is an Accounts Payable role within a centralized accounting department. This internal role through Robert Half is ideal for someone who is organized, adaptable, and comfortable handling multiple accounting tasks in a fast-paced setting. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reconciliation and audit activities, and collaborating with internal teams through clear written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily cash-related accounting activities and help maintain accurate financial records for departmental operations.
• Perform account reconciliations by reviewing transactions, identifying discrepancies, and resolving variances in a timely manner.
• Support audit preparation by gathering documentation, validating financial data, and assisting with compliance-related requests.
• Assist with accounts payable processes, including reviewing invoices, verifying coding, and helping ensure timely payment handling.
• Use accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools to track financial activity, prepare reports, and maintain organized records.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders to clarify account details, respond to questions, and provide updates on outstanding items.
• Prioritize multiple assignments effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail in routine and complex tasks.

Qualifications:
• Experience in account reconciliation within an accounting or finance setting.• Working knowledge of audit support processes and financial documentation review.
• Familiarity with accounts payable procedures and related accounting practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for reporting, communication, and data management.
• Experience using accounting software in a detail-focused environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across teams.
• Ability to learn new processes quickly, manage competing priorities, and stay organized in a busy workplace.
Compensation
