Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage general ledger activity by preparing journal entries, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting daily accounting operations.
• Perform account reconciliations and review balance sheet activity to resolve variances and improve the integrity of financial data.
• Assist with month-end close by organizing supporting documentation, validating transactions, and helping produce dependable financial reporting.
• Compile, extract, and analyze accounting data using advanced Excel tools to support reporting, trend review, and decision-making.
• Support payroll-related accounting and ensure transactions are recorded completely and in the proper reporting periods.
• Contribute to corporate tax and sales tax activities, including maintaining supporting schedules and assisting with return preparation.
• Help strengthen accounting processes during periods of organizational growth, team change, or ERP environment updates by bringing structure and consistency to workflows.
• Work closely with both onshore and offshore partners in a fully in-office setting to maintain efficient communication and timely completion of deliverables.
Qualifications:
• Detail-oriented experience in staff accounting or a closely related accounting role.• Strong knowledge of journal entries, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
• Experience supporting payroll accounting, financial analysis, and the preparation of accurate financial reports.
• Background assisting with corporate tax, sales tax, and related compliance documentation.
• Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis functions used for large data sets.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and improve the reliability of accounting information across changing processes.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and the ability to operate independently.
• Exposure to ERP platforms beyond QuickBooks, including Acumatica or similar systems, is preferred; interest in AI-enabled tools is a plus.
