Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for a PART TIME Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day payment operations for a Contract position based in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with financial data, and confident managing invoice processing and vendor payments. The successful candidate will help maintain timely disbursements, ensure proper coding, and contribute to smooth accounts payable workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before processing payments.

• Assign general ledger or account codes to invoices and expense items in alignment with established accounting practices.

• Process accounts payable transactions efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail and documentation standards.

• Prepare and execute ACH payments and support scheduled check runs to ensure vendors are paid on time.

• Reconcile payment records and investigate discrepancies related to invoices, remittances, or vendor accounts.

• Communicate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve billing questions and payment issues promptly.

• Maintain organized financial records and support audit readiness through accurate filing and tracking of payable documents.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support function.
• Proficiency in invoice review, account coding, and high-volume data entry with strong accuracy.
• Hands-on knowledge of ACH processing and check payment procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining consistent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with standard accounting practices and financial recordkeeping.
• Comfortable using accounting software and spreadsheet tools to track and process transactions.

Compensation

$25.00-$30.00 Hourly
