Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to support investment reporting activities for a Contract position in Blue Ash, Ohio. This opportunity is within the Financial Services industry and focuses on maintaining accurate monthly accounting operations, resolving cash and payment variances, and producing reliable financial information. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting experience, a disciplined approach to reconciliations, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment. This role is hybrid - 1 day a week onsite. The contract will be for 1-2 years in duration.

Responsibilities:

• Manage monthly close activities tied to investment reporting, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and submitted on schedule.

• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of general ledger balances and supporting documentation.

• Perform high-volume account reconciliations and investigate exceptions to resolve discrepancies efficiently.

• Review bank activity and cash transactions to identify, analyze, and correct payment-related differences.

• Produce regulatory financial reports with careful attention to accounting standards, internal controls, and reporting deadlines.

• Utilize Clearwater Analytics and related reporting tools to validate data, support analysis, and improve reporting accuracy.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to clarify account activity, research unusual variances, and support financial reporting needs.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading month-end close responsibilities in an accounting environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entry preparation, and account analysis.
• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes.
• Ability to identify and resolve cash, payment, and transaction discrepancies with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience supporting regulatory financial reporting within a structured and deadline-sensitive setting.
• Familiarity with Clearwater Analytics or similar investment accounting and reporting platforms.
• Background in Financial Services accounting with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Compensation

$31.66-$36.66 Hourly
