Controller
We are looking for an experienced Controller to support a manufacturing organization in northern Virginia. This Long-term Contract position, with the possibility of conversion, will lead core accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting processes, and provide dependable oversight across the close cycle and reconciliations. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance knowledge and can guide accurate, timely reporting in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly and quarterly close activities, ensuring financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve account variances through thorough review and follow-up.
• Manage financial reporting activities and help prepare documentation required for audit support and compliance reviews.
• Direct inventory accounting processes, including valuation, adjustments, and reconciliation of inventory-related accounts.
• Monitor manufacturing cost accounting activities to improve accuracy in product costing and margin analysis.
• Review accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and recommend process improvements that support reliable reporting.
• Partner with operational and finance leaders to analyze performance trends and address accounting issues affecting results.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience serving as a Controller or in a senior accounting leadership role.• Strong background managing month-end and quarter-end close within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on expertise with balance sheet account reconciliation and financial statement review.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting practices and manufacturing cost accounting principles.
• Experience supporting external or internal financial audits and preparing related schedules.
• Ability to identify reporting issues, investigate discrepancies, and implement practical solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across accounting and operations teams.
Compensation
