Mailroom Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Receive and review incoming mail, including legal correspondence, and ensure each item is directed to the proper next step.
• Distinguish important documents from nonessential materials by applying careful attention to detail during mail sorting and handling.
• Maintain consistent on-site attendance to support uninterrupted daily mailroom operations.
• Coordinate professionally with mail carriers, process servers, and law enforcement personnel during deliveries and pickups.
• Transport outgoing shipments to the FedEx office three times per week, including regular Monday, Wednesday, and Friday drop-offs to the processing center.
• Communicate updates, issues, and delivery-related information promptly to keep mail handling activities running smoothly.
• Work independently in the office while managing incoming and outgoing mail with minimal supervision.
• Complete initial onboarding through virtual training and follow written process documentation to perform assigned duties accurately.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in customer service, administrative support, mail handling, or a related operational role.• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and separate critical mail from routine or unwanted items.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to a local shipping location multiple times each week.
• Comfort working alone and staying productive in an independent office environment.
• Effective verbal communication skills and a detail-oriented approach when interacting with external contacts.
• Basic data entry skills and the ability to maintain accurate mail-related records.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality to support time-sensitive mail processing needs.
Compensation
