Accounting Manager
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support financial operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity based in Framingham, Massachusetts. This role will lead day-to-day accounting activities, provide guidance to a small developing team, and help ensure accurate reporting across core financial processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain organized, timely close and reconciliation practices.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a small team, providing direction, oversight, and day-to-day support.
• Review accounts payable activity and related accounting documentation to help ensure completeness, accuracy, and policy compliance.
• Oversee the recording of transactions, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset activity within the general ledger.
• Approve and evaluate journal entries, account classifications, and general ledger coding to maintain reliable financial records.
• Manage month-end close activities by coordinating deadlines, reviewing deliverables, and resolving accounting issues promptly.
• Perform and review account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, support balance sheet integrity, and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist with audit preparation by organizing financial support, responding to requests, and helping maintain accurate reporting schedules.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in an Accounting Manager role or in a senior-level accounting position with team oversight responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entry review.
• Experience preparing or reviewing account reconciliations and supporting financial statement audit activities.
• Solid understanding of accounting for prepaids, fixed assets, accounts payable, and journal entries.
• Ability to review financial data carefully, apply accurate account coding, and maintain a high level of detail.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Compensation
