Senior Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a respected real estate organization in Metairie, Louisiana. This position will support core accounting operations, contribute to accurate financial reporting, and partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain strong financial controls. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in general accounting, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting activities to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items.
• Analyze financial results and explain variances to support informed business decisions.
• Manage billing-related processes and help maintain accurate revenue and receivable records.
• Assist with quarterly close procedures, including journal entries, supporting schedules, and reporting deliverables.
• Support audit preparation by organizing documentation and responding to requests from internal or external reviewers.
• Collaborate closely with accounting, administrative, operational, and executive stakeholders on financial matters and process needs.
• Use Excel and accounting systems to maintain records, prepare reports, and improve reporting efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience in a detail-focused setting.
• Background in real estate accounting is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, variance analysis, billing, audit support, and quarterly close activities.
• Ability to balance routine accounting responsibilities with cross-functional collaboration across multiple teams.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and experience working with accounting software.
• Solid analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Compensation

$60,000.00-$80,000.00 Yearly
