Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Record and maintain day-to-day financial activity with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage invoice processing and coordinate timely vendor disbursements to support efficient accounts payable operations.
• Examine accounts payable records, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile vendor statements to keep balances current.
• Post lockbox activity and apply incoming customer payments correctly to the appropriate accounts.
• Assist with collections activities and handle accounts receivable tasks to improve cash flow and aging performance.
• Track outstanding member receivables and communicate with account holders regarding past-due balances.
• Prepare account reconciliations and support month-end closing tasks to ensure dependable financial reporting.
• Contribute to ad hoc assignments and special accounting initiatives as directed by the Accounting Manager.
Qualifications:
• Experience in staff accounting or a related accounting position with responsibility for both payables and receivables.• Working knowledge of corporate tax concepts, including exposure to corporate tax returns and sales tax processes.
• Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately within the general ledger.
• Strong reconciliation skills with the ability to identify variances and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Proficiency in maintaining organized financial records and processing high-volume transactions with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to follow up on outstanding balances in a detail-focused manner.
Compensation
