Revenue Cycle Director
Responsibilities:
• Lead daily patient accounting operations, setting priorities and directing staff resources to support efficient, cost-conscious performance.
• Build collaborative working relationships with medical staff and partner departments to strengthen coordination across billing, documentation, utilization review, and financial workflows.
• Design and refine revenue cycle procedures that capture billable services accurately and improve overall collections.
• Oversee reimbursement activities to support prompt, precise payment from commercial insurers and other third-party payers.
• Manage patient accounts receivable by reviewing aging trends, evaluating outstanding balances, and guiding follow-up efforts to increase recoveries.
• Supervise billing and collection processes across inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization services to maintain timely and accurate account resolution.
• Direct cash management activities and monitor incoming payments to support organizational financial stability.
• Establish and monitor internal controls that keep financial operations aligned with regulatory and compliance expectations.
• Provide financial leadership support in the absence of the Chief Financial Officer, including serving as a key contact for executive leadership and supervising finance staff.
• Recruit, coach, evaluate, and manage team members, including performance feedback and recommendations related to staffing changes and employee development.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.• At least 7 years of experience in Patient Financial Services, including work in patient accounting, registration, financial counseling, third-party insurance, and coding practices.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience with responsibility for supervising staff and managing operational performance.
• Strong knowledge of admission, discharge, transfer, and medical billing systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in healthcare revenue cycle operations, including accounts receivable management and reimbursement processes.
• Experience with medical billing in complex healthcare settings, including ambulatory surgery or similar service lines.
• Effective leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
