Legal Assistant
Robert Half is looking for a Contract Legal Assistant to support our client a busy law firm. This position is well suited for a candidate with relevant experience who brings experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration and can provide dependable support in a client-focused legal environment. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and confident managing administrative and document-related work while helping attorneys stay prepared and responsive. This role is onsite with free parking.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, responding appropriately and helping coordinate communication with the legal team.
• Organize calendars, schedule appointments, and track important deadlines to keep daily operations running smoothly.
• Prepare attorneys for meetings by assembling documents, materials, and relevant case or client information in advance.
• Review incoming electronic and physical mail, route items appropriately, and follow up on time-sensitive matters.
• Maintain accurate client and matter records in both paper files and the firm’s document management systems.
• Handle administrative support tasks such as scanning, copying, processing timesheets, and preparing expense documentation.
• Assist with drafting and formatting legal correspondence and other routine legal documents as needed.
• Support estate planning and trust-related work, including helping prepare wills, trusts, and related materials.
• Coordinate filing activities, including electronic filing and court-related submissions when required.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in a legal support role, preferably involving estate planning, probate, or trust administration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and requests with strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented, client-service-oriented approach.
• Proficiency with calendar management, document handling, and legal administrative processes in a law firm setting.
• Experience with e-filing, court filings, and related legal support functions.
• Comfort using legal technology and office software; experience with WealthCounsel is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; an associate degree with relevant experience will also be considered, and a paralegal certificate is a plus.
Compensation
