Controller

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller for an interim engagement in the Brentwood area. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who can quickly step into a fast-paced environment, oversee critical accounting and financial operations, and provide strategic guidance during a period of growth and change.

The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing day-to-day financial leadership with process improvement initiatives, while ensuring the timely delivery of accurate financial information to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting packages
• Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to leadership
• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic business decisions
• Partner with Accounting, Operations, and executive leadership to improve efficiencies and reporting capabilities
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and compliance requirements
• Analyze key performance indicators and business trends to support operational performance
• Identify and implement process improvements, including finance-related system enhancements
• Provide guidance, leadership, and mentorship to accounting and finance team members

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within complex or high-growth organizations
• Strong expertise in month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting operations
• Solid understanding of internal controls and financial compliance practices
• Experience working with large ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis
• Public accounting experience, including Big 4 exposure, is highly preferred
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and collaborate effectively across departments
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
