Position Summary
This role is responsible for compiling and maintaining payroll data as well as running payroll.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Process and maintain payroll records for all employees
- Review, audit and validate employee timecards to ensure accuracy
- Process employee payroll changes, including address updates, tax withholding elections, direct deposit information, wage rate changes and other payroll deductions.
- Prepare and distribute payroll checks, payroll registers and supporting payroll documentation in accordance with established payroll schedules.
- Generate manual payroll checks when required due to payroll corrections, terminations, off-cycle payments or other special circumstances.
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Maintain payroll calendars and tracking systems to ensure timely administration of scheduled wage increases, benefit enrollments, payroll deductions and other employee compensation changes.
- Monitor and maintain accurate federal, state and local tax information to support payroll compliance across applicable jurisdictions.
- Serve as a payroll resource for employees by explaining payroll-related programs and options, including direct deposit enrollment, tax withholding elections, benefit deductions and pay statement inquiries.
- Maintain organized payroll files and records in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and document retention standards.
- Support payroll audits, compliance reviews, certified payroll reporting, and special payroll projects by providing accurate documentation and reporting as requested.

Education/Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll administration, payroll processing, payroll compliance and payroll tax regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant payroll administration experience.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures, records management, business correspondence and office systems.
- Familiarity with certified payroll reporting, prevailing wage requirements, union payroll administration and multi-state payroll processing.
salary $25-$35/hr
