Marketing & Communications Specialist

Position Summary

PCI Federal's Technology and Mission Solutions Sector is seeking a highly organized, creative, and proactive Marketing & Communications Specialist to support our growing government contracting organization. This role is ideal for a marketing professional who combines strong graphic design capabilities and content creation with excellent project management and communication skills. Experience in the federal government contracting sector is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary coordinator for the company's marketing and communications activities, ensuring that marketing materials remain current, social media engagement is consistent, and executive thought leadership content is published on a regular cadence. This individual will work closely with company leadership, business development, capture, and technical teams to help elevate brand awareness, showcase capabilities, and support corporate growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Materials & Brand Management

  • Create, update, and maintain company capability statements, slick sheets, service offerings, and other marketing collateral.
  • Ensure all marketing materials remain accurate, current, and aligned with company branding standards.
  • Develop graphics, visual content, and presentation materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate updates to website content in collaboration with leadership and technical teams.
  • Propose and lead marketing initiatives to support the Sector's business strategy and opportunities.
  • Support marketing material development for conferences and special events.

Social Media & Content Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the company's LinkedIn presence.
  • Develop and maintain a communications calendar that aligns with corporate initiatives, events, contract wins, and industry trends.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and publish social media content on a consistent basis.
  • Track engagement metrics and recommend improvements to increase audience reach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with executives and subject matter experts to translate technical content into compelling, audience-friendly communications.

Thought Leadership Program Coordination

  • Manage a content pipeline for executive leadership and advanced technology teams.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the development, editing, and publication of articles, blogs, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Establish and maintain a regular publication schedule to drive traffic to the company website and LinkedIn page.
  • Ensure content is delivered on time by coordinating deadlines, reviews, and approvals.

Communications & Workflow Management

  • Develop and maintain marketing workflows, content review processes, and publication schedules.
  • Organize marketing assets, templates, and content repositories.
  • Proactively coordinate across departments and with holding company POCs to gather information and approvals for marketing content and initiatives
  • Identify communication gaps and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Provide regular status updates to leadership on marketing and communications activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Strong graphic design and content creation skills.
  • Experience creating professional marketing materials, presentations, and capability statements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar graphic design tools.
  • Experience managing LinkedIn company pages and social media content calendars.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a federal government contractor or working within the GovCon industry.
  • Familiarity with federal contracting terminology, NAICS codes, contract vehicles, and capability statements.
  • Understanding of business development, capture management, and proposal processes.
  • Experience with website content management systems (WordPress or similar).
  • Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing best practices.
  • Experience working with executives and technical subject matter experts on technology topics.
  • Experience creating short form videos for social media and public posting.

Success Metrics

Within the first 6–12 months, the successful candidate will:

  • Establish and maintain a quarterly communications calendar and weekly social media content calendar.
  • Ensure all capability statements and marketing collateral remain current and professionally branded.
  • Increase consistency and engagement of LinkedIn communications.
  • Maintain a predictable cadence of executive and technical thought leadership publications.
  • Improve marketing workflow efficiency and content management processes.
  • Support increased brand visibility and website traffic through coordinated communications efforts.
