Sweep and clean shop areas; clean machine; maintain and comply with hazardous waste control guidelines; and assist machine operators by emptying chip bins.
Tools and Equipment:
Broom, shovel, rake, wheelbarrow, shop floor vacuum system, stacker, trash containers, scrap bins, hand carts, hammer, hazardous waste containers, crowbar, snips, chip hook, safety glasses, gloves, mops and cleaners.
Material:
Absorbent compounds and matting, metal chips, scrap metal pieces, wood, paper, rags, solvents, drums, boxes, barrels, hazardous materials/wastes, drum and bottle labels, cleaners, etc.
Work Procedure and/or Responsibility Assigned:
Receive work assignment from supervisor.
Read and follow safety regulations, procedures, and all established guidelines for hazardous materials.
Sweep and clean shop floors.
Collect and sort trash, debris, and chips. Deposit in appropriate containers.
Collect and sort all hazardous waste materials in accordance with waste control guidelines. Ensure proper labeling of all primary containment vessels.
Clean machines using solvents and shop steam clean units.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and order condition.
Make proper time entries and record job related data as required.
Perform other work of equal or lower classifications as required.
Perform Work of equal or lower skills level as required.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
Experience working within a Manufacturing Environment.
Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 25lbs.
US citizenship is required.
