Technical Sales Engineer
Responsibilities:
• Build and carry out a regional sales approach that increases revenue, strengthens market presence, and supports company growth goals within the assigned territory.
• Develop new business by engaging electrical distributors, system integrators, engineering consultants, and end users in industries that rely on motor control solutions.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing accounts through regular outreach, site visits, and ongoing business reviews aimed at uncovering expansion opportunities.
• Lead and support manufacturer representatives across the territory by aligning sales efforts, sharing product knowledge, and participating in joint customer meetings.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer education sessions that encourage product adoption and specification.
• Review customer drawings, electrical schematics, and project requirements to prepare accurate recommendations, proposals, and quotations.
• Partner with internal sales, engineering, and customer support teams to address application questions, resolve issues, and ensure a positive customer experience after the sale.
• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and technical seminars to strengthen visibility and generate strong business opportunities.
• Manage channel and distributor relationships in accordance with pricing structures, program expectations, and broader business objectives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical or business discipline, or equivalent industry experience.• Demonstrated success in technical sales, territory development, or account growth within an industrial or electrical products environment.
• Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles, motor controls, soft starters, and motor protection applications.
• Ability to interpret technical documents such as electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and project specifications.
• Experience presenting technical solutions to customers and translating application needs into commercial opportunities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with distributors, representatives, engineers, and end users.
• Proficiency in evaluating customer requirements and recommending practical, technically sound solutions.
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory to support customer meetings, training sessions, and industry events.
Compensation
