Sr. HR Generalist
We are looking for an experienced Bilingual Sr. HR Generalist to support a broad range of human resources activities for a team based in Chicago, Illinois. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can balance day-to-day HR operations with employee support, compliance, payroll processing and process coordination. This position is based on the Southwest side of Downtown Chicago, and 100% on site.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day HR support across employee relations, policy guidance, and general personnel matters.
- Processing payroll full cycle for 350 employees
- Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure new hires have a smooth and organized start, including documentation and orientation support.
- Administer benefits-related processes by assisting employees with enrollment, changes, and questions while maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain HR data and documentation within HRIS platforms, ensuring information is current, complete, and aligned with internal standards.
- Assist with HR administration such as personnel file management, compliance tracking, and employment documentation.
- Partner with managers and employees to address workplace concerns, escalate issues when appropriate, and promote consistent HR practices.
- Support updates to HR procedures and workflows, including process changes or system-related activities as needed.
- Contribute to ongoing efforts that improve the employee experience through responsive service and strong operational follow-through.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in processing payroll
- Strong experience using Paylocity
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Proven experience in a Human Resources Generalist role with exposure to both employee support and HR operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of employee relations practices and the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Experience managing onboarding activities and coordinating required employment documentation.
- Familiarity with benefits administration, including employee inquiries and routine transaction support.
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems and confidence maintaining accurate employee records.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across the organization.
