Payroll Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Process biweekly payroll from start to finish for a workforce of more than 800 employees, ensuring accuracy for both exempt and non-exempt team members.
• Review, calculate, and apply variable compensation elements, including shift or task-based pay differentials and commission or sales incentive payments.
• Administer payroll activities across multiple states, including California, Arizona, and Nevada, while maintaining adherence to applicable wage and tax regulations.
• Monitor payroll tax and compliance requirements to help ensure filings, withholdings, and related processes are handled correctly and on schedule.
• Validate payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues before final submission to support timely payroll processing each pay cycle.
• Coordinate payroll execution according to the established biweekly schedule and complete processing in alignment with designated payroll deadlines.
• Provide day-to-day payroll oversight and support for internal payroll operations, helping maintain consistent processes and accurate records.
• Assist with compensation adjustments tied to job duties or work locations, including pay rate updates related to minimum wage requirements.
• Utilize payroll and incentive tracking systems to manage earnings data and support accurate employee payments.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience managing full-cycle payroll processing.• Demonstrated experience handling payroll for employee populations exceeding 500 workers.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and payroll tax compliance.
• Hands-on experience using ADP Workforce Now.
• Solid understanding of payroll rules for exempt and non-exempt employees.
• Experience working with variable pay components such as differentials, commissions, or incentive compensation.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in payroll administration.
