Sr. Investment Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounting entries and performance data for publicly traded investments held with multiple custodial partners, ensuring records remain complete and accurate across reporting platforms.
• Produce recurring portfolio reporting for leadership, the Investment Committee, and the Board of Directors on weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules.
• Lead core month-end activities for the public investment accounting function, including reconciliations, review of account activity, and preparation of necessary journal adjustments.
• Research complex or unusual investment events such as corporate actions, dividend issues, and tax-related transaction impacts to ensure proper financial statement treatment.
• Review cash flow results against forecasts and budgets, then summarize meaningful variances for inclusion in quarterly board reporting materials.
• Contribute investment-related inputs to monthly cash forecasting by estimating recurring income and anticipated trading activity to support liquidity planning.
• Assist with annual audit activities for public securities across multiple entities by preparing support schedules, responding to requests, and coordinating documentation.
• Prepare budget items related to marketable investments and present supporting analysis for annual planning discussions.
• Build strong working knowledge of investment reporting tools such as Addepar to enhance accounting accuracy, reporting quality, and analytical support for the investment team.
• Maintain effective relationships with brokers, custodians, and internal stakeholders while providing ad hoc financial analysis and supporting tax-basis tracking in partnership with the tax team.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.• Approximately 3 to 4 years of experience in accounting, middle-office operations, or a similar financial reporting environment.
• Exposure to investment accounting or securities-related activities is preferred.
• Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite or Addepar is an advantage.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced capability in Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and apply them to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical ability, close attention to detail, sound discretion, and effective time management in a deadline-driven setting.
Compensation
