Tax Staff - Public

We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Staff team member to support a public accounting team in Richmond, Virginia. This position focuses on preparing a range of tax filings while also assisting with client accounting needs and routine bookkeeping activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple client engagements, maintaining accuracy, and working effectively with tax software in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare individual, corporate, and business tax returns accurately and on schedule.
• Review client financial records to organize information needed for complete and compliant tax filings.
• Maintain bookkeeping records for assigned clients, including routine account updates and transaction posting.
• Assist with client accounting tasks by reconciling accounts and helping keep financial data current.
• Use CCH ProSystem software to complete tax preparation work efficiently and consistently.
• Communicate with internal team members and clients to clarify financial details, resolve discrepancies, and gather missing documentation.

Qualifications:

• Experience preparing individual tax returns in a public accounting or similar detail-focused environment.
• Working knowledge of corporate and business tax return preparation.
• Proficiency in tax preparation processes with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Hands-on experience with CCH ProSystem or CCH ProSystem Fx.
• Familiarity with bookkeeping practices and basic client accounting support.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects effectively.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$80,000.00 Yearly
