Insurance Verification Coordinator

We are looking for an Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our team in Sacramento, California in an onsite Contract to Permanent role. This position focuses on confirming coverage details, interpreting payer terms, and helping patients understand their expected financial responsibility before services are provided. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of insurance benefits, works confidently in a high-volume setting, and communicates clearly with both patients and internal teams.

Responsibilities:
• Review insurance plans and benefit details to verify coverage for scheduled procedures prior to service.
• Interpret payer agreements to identify allowable amounts and support accurate pre-service financial estimates.
• Calculate anticipated patient costs by evaluating copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket limits.
• Explain benefit information and estimated balances to patients in a clear, thorough, and supportive manner.
• Coordinate with team members and internal departments to resolve verification questions and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Manage a steady volume of verification activity while meeting turnaround expectations and quality standards.
• Document verification findings accurately to support claims processing and patient billing follow-up.
• Contribute to team performance goals by maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and strong service levels in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in insurance verification or a closely related healthcare revenue cycle role.
• Strong ability to interpret insurance benefits, payer terms, and coverage details for scheduled services.
• Working knowledge of patient liability elements, including copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and out-of-pocket maximums.
• Familiarity with a range of insurance products, including commercial plans and Medicare Advantage coverage.
• Comfortable discussing financial estimates and benefit explanations directly with patients.
• Proven ability to stay organized and effective in a high-volume, deadline-driven setting.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work well under pressure and contribute positively to a team environment.
• Covid vaccination is required for this onsite position in accordance with workplace guidelines.

Compensation

$22.00-$24.00 Hourly
