Billing Analyst

We are looking for a Billing Analyst to join our team in New Jersey. This contract position supports accurate customer billing, account maintenance, and service-related coordination while helping deliver dependable service to the community. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing high-volume transactional work, resolving account issues, and communicating clearly with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

• Manage customer billing activities for an assigned portfolio of accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing of charges, adjustments, and related transactions.

• Respond to customer questions regarding invoices, account activity, and service matters while providing clear and attentive support.

• Open new customer accounts, update existing records, and maintain organized documentation through consistent filing and record retention practices.

• Investigate billing discrepancies, account exceptions, and service concerns, then take independent action to resolve issues efficiently and accurately.

• Support the preparation and distribution of customer bills and help coordinate with external payment processing partners to ensure smooth remittance operations.

• Perform administrative support for billing and finance-related applications, including customer information systems and meter-related software used in daily operations.

• Assist with meter and transmitter inventory tracking, calibration scheduling, meter reading support, and coordination of equipment maintenance activities.

• Prepare notifications for customers, including occasional field-related notice delivery, and complete required reporting and recordkeeping tasks.

• Communicate with vendors to gather details on pricing, product availability, and delivery timelines for materials or services tied to billing and operations support.

• Participate in standby coverage and respond to urgent or off-hours assignments as needed, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and outdoor work activities.

Qualifications:

• Experience in billing, accounts receivable, or customer account administration within a high-volume environment.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to work effectively across billing or financial systems, including Costpoint if applicable.
• Demonstrated ability to identify errors, analyze account issues, and resolve discrepancies with a high level of accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Solid organizational skills with experience maintaining records, managing documentation, and balancing multiple priorities.
• Comfort working in an on-site role in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, with flexibility for occasional outdoor tasks and standby responsibilities.
• Basic math skills and confidence handling transactional data while preserving data integrity and confidentiality.

Compensation

$19.79-$22.91 Hourly
