Accountant - Entry Level

We are looking for an Entry Level Accountant to join a hospitality organization in New York, New York on a Contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to build hands-on experience across core accounting functions while supporting day-to-day financial operations. The role offers exposure to payables, receivables, reconciliations, and month-end activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices and support timely payment activities while maintaining accurate accounts payable records.
• Assist with customer billing, cash application, and follow-up tasks related to accounts receivable balances.
• Prepare and review bank and general ledger reconciliations to help ensure financial accuracy.
• Enter accounting data into financial systems with a high level of attention to detail and completeness.
• Contribute to month-end close tasks by organizing support documentation and posting journal-related information as needed.
• Help maintain orderly accounting records and identify discrepancies for follow-up and resolution.
• Work with internal team members to support routine financial reporting and transactional accounting needs.

Qualifications:

• Experience or foundational knowledge in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations and account reconciliation procedures.
• Ability to prepare and enter accounting entries accurately.
• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to organize, review, and analyze financial data.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring tasks efficiently.
• Exposure to Opera is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a reliable, team-oriented approach.

Compensation

$20.90-$24.20 Hourly
