Medical Scheduler
Position Summary
We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Medical Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The Medical Scheduler is responsible for coordinating patient appointments, managing provider schedules, and ensuring efficient patient flow within the practice. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments in accordance with provider availability and office protocols.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, consultations, and follow-up appointments.
- Verify patient demographic and insurance information prior to appointments.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Communicate appointment details, preparation instructions, and office policies to patients.
- Manage provider calendars and optimize scheduling to maximize efficiency.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff regarding scheduling needs.
- Monitor cancellations, waitlists, and appointment availability.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all patient confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with other front-office and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification preferred, such as:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and healthcare regulations.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Compensation
