Senior Accountant

Compensation: $75 to $85 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a distribution company in Sacramento, California. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing essential reconciliations, tracking and managing inventory, and helping ensure a timely close process each month. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently across general ledger and reporting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and fully supported.

• Perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.

• Manage general ledger activity by recording journal entries and verifying proper classification of transactions.

• Support the month-end close by completing assigned accounting tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high standards of accuracy.

• Analyze account activity and financial data to identify variances, unusual trends, and items requiring follow-up.

• Maintain organized documentation for reconciliations, entries, and supporting schedules to strengthen audit readiness and internal controls.

• Work within accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to process transactions and monitor financial information.

• Use Microsoft Excel to build schedules, perform data analysis, and streamline recurring accounting processes


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role, preferably within a distribution, wholesale, or similar operational environment.
• Strong background in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation activities.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with large data sets and financial schedules.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major ERP system, such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and analytical problem-solving ability.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$85,000.00 Yearly
