About the Job
The Cutting Room Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Manager with directing the day-to-day operations of the Cutting Room to ensure the timely, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of custom and production garments. This position oversees production personnel, quality, workflow, staffing, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. The Cutting Room Supervisor partners with Quality, Maintenance, Human Resources, and other production departments to meet customer expectations and achieve company performance objectives.
 
 
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
·        Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop employees to achieve performance goals related to safety, quality, productivity, teamwork, and job knowledge.
·        Monitor workflow and allocate resources to maximize productivity and meet customer delivery requirements.
·        Collaborate with the Quality department to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues.
·        Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and utilizing Lean manufacturing principles and approved coaching methods.
·        Identify staffing needs and communicate hiring requirements to management.
·        Coordinate employee training to ensure team members are properly trained in job duties, safety procedures, company policies, and cross-training initiatives.
·        Partner with the Maintenance department to ensure equipment is properly maintained and repaired to minimize production interruptions.
·        Promote a safe working environment by reporting, documenting, and addressing safety concerns and incidents.
·        Participate in departmental meetings and communicate operational updates to employees and leadership.
·        Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
·        Administer employee coaching and corrective action in partnership with the Human Resources department.
·        Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
 
 Skills & Experience
·        Experience in textile or garment manufacturing preferred.
·        Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese preferred.
·        Strong leadership and team development skills.
·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·        Ability to effectively assign, prioritize, and schedule work.
·        Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
·        Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
·        Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 6S, preferred.
·        Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
·        Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
·        Ability to build positive working relationships across departments.

·        May involve exposure to fabric dust, machine noise, and moving equipment
 
Physical Qualifications:
·        Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
·        Frequent use of hands and repetitive hand motions

Benefits
 
The starting salary for this position is $60,000-$65,000 and may increase to $70,000 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
