Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer - Offboard Health Management (OHMS) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Multi-Domain Command and Control organization. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.

In this role, you will work in the Offboard Health Management (OHMS) element, a ground-based system that ingests Integrated Health Management System (IHMS) and Built-In Test (BIT) data for analysis. The system ingests fault information, raw vehicle data, and other telemetry, presents the results in dashboards, and exchanges data with broader maintenance tools to automatically generate work-order forms.

The OHMS Engineer will be responsible for one or more of the following:

  • Requirements analysis and development tasks include supplier statements of work, requirements analysis, and development to generate subsystem technical requirements documentation, trade studies, modeling, and performance analysis
  • Architecture development and subsystem design tasks include generation of the technical requirements documentation baseline, functional and physical architecture definition and control, functional and physical interface definition and control, and design drawing creation support
  • Acquisition and supplier management tasks include support to Global Supply Chain for RFPs and supplier/PO status, supplier meetings and reviews, witness of supplier testing and verification activities, and SDRL review and acceptance
  • Test and verification tasks (including qualification testing) include managing compliance to the verification cross reference matrix for hardware, software and subsystem level test, oversight of supplier manufacturing and test process, and documentation related to product test, managing supplier manufacturing and testing issues as they arise, and facilitating resolution and review of supplier test and verification reports
  • A successful OHMS Engineer has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.
  • Practical knowledge of functional and physical architecture definition, interface control, and creation of design drawings.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and supplier interaction

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 6 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 4 years of relevant military / professional experience
  • Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • Must have experience performing requirements analysis and developing technical requirement documentation for hardware/software subsystems.
  • Must have experience supporting acquisition activities such as RFP development, supplier coordination, and reviewing supplier deliverables.
  • Must have experience in test and verification processes, including creating verification matrices, overseeing hardware/software test, and managing test documentation.
  • Must have experience with data acquisition from aerospace interfaces, specifically MIL-STD-1553 or equivalent bus protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with the Automated Logistics Environment (ALE) or similar Integrated Health Management System (IHMS) tools.
  • Active Top-Secret security clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
  • Prior work on C-130J, E-2D, or other aircraft logistics/maintenance software platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics and dashboard frameworks.
  • Familiarity with software-configuration management tools (e.g., Git, DOORS, Rational) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certifications such as PMP, SAFe Agile, or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).
  • Control Account Management (CAM) certification or Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
