Accounts Payable Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before entering them into the payment workflow.
• Assign the correct accounting codes to vendor invoices to ensure expenses are recorded in the appropriate accounts.
• Process invoices efficiently and maintain organized documentation to support audit readiness and internal recordkeeping.
• Prepare and coordinate scheduled check runs and other payment activities in alignment with established deadlines.
• Reconcile payable transactions and investigate discrepancies by working with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and payment status to help maintain accurate aging and avoid delays in disbursement.
• Support ongoing improvements to accounts payable procedures by identifying opportunities to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
• Experience performing accounts payable duties in a finance or accounting environment.
• Working knowledge of invoice review, expense coding, and high-volume invoice processing.
• Ability to manage check runs and follow established payment schedules with accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining precise financial records.
• Proficiency in basic accounting practices and familiarity with accounts payable controls.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to organize multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced setting.
