Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage month-end accounting activities by preparing journal entries, reviewing general ledger activity, and completing balance sheet reconciliations on schedule.
• Help maintain financial accuracy by supporting internal control procedures, performing account reviews, and identifying discrepancies across departments.
• Partner with external auditors during the annual audit by gathering documentation, answering follow-up questions, and supplying requested financial data.
• Contribute to ongoing process enhancements by identifying opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency.
• Prepare and distribute recurring daily and weekly financial reports to support business visibility and decision-making.
• Complete sales tax filings and related compliance tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure recorded balances are supported and resolved promptly.
• Provide additional accounting support and related duties as business needs require.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.• At least 1 to 2 years of accounting experience, ideally within distribution, manufacturing, or another high-volume transaction setting.
• Practical experience with month-end close, journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of sales tax processing, corporate tax support, or related tax compliance activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using an ERP system in an accounting environment that requires attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach to working across teams.
Compensation
