Embedded Controls Engineer
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement embedded control software for industrial power conversion systems with an emphasis on stability, performance, and real-time operation.
• Develop firmware in C and C++ for microcontroller- and DSP-based platforms, integrating timing-critical functions and low-level hardware control.
• Create and refine control algorithms for converters, inverters, rectifiers, and regulated DC systems based on application and system requirements.
• Interface directly with hardware components such as ADCs, PWMs, timers, and interrupt-driven subsystems to support accurate sensing and control behavior.
• Build and maintain embedded web-based user interfaces and device-hosted web services using modern browser technologies and lightweight network stacks.
• Troubleshoot and validate system behavior using laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.
• Support communication and interoperability across embedded platforms using industrial and device-level protocols where required.
• Contribute to simulation, test automation, and hardware-in-the-loop validation activities to improve software reliability and development efficiency.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in embedded controls, embedded software, or other real-time engineering environments.• Strong proficiency in C and C++ for resource-constrained, real-time embedded applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of digital control methods for industrial power converters and related power electronics systems.
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers or digital signal processors, including direct work with peripherals used for sensing and actuation.
• Solid understanding of control theory and how software behavior interacts with power hardware and measurement circuitry.
• Experience developing embedded web interfaces using HTML5, JavaScript, and related technologies.
• Practical familiarity with lab-based debugging and validation tools used for embedded and power electronics development.
• Exposure to industrial communication protocols, modeling or simulation tools, or automated test environments is considered beneficial.
