Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Perform monthly bank account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate cash records.
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts each month to support complete and reliable financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for an assigned group of properties, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Compile and distribute recurring monthly and quarterly financial reports in alignment with established reporting timelines.
• Create documentation and requests for the release and application of reserve funds as needed.
• Monitor and process scheduled mortgage, escrow, and reserve-related payments for properties on time each month.
• Assist in developing annual operating budgets for a designated property portfolio.
• Assemble year-end audit schedules, supporting work papers, and related financial documentation for external review.
• Provide additional accounting support and complete special assignments as directed by accounting leadership.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.• Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliation processes.
• Experience preparing monthly financial statements and periodic financial reports.
• Ability to reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with budgeting, escrow-related transactions, and reserve fund activity.
• Understanding of audit support documentation and year-end reporting requirements.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
Compensation
