Sr. Accountant

Compensation: $38 to $44 Hourly

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a growing organization on a Contract basis. This role supports accounting operations across several business entities and requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can manage core accounting activities with accuracy and consistency. The position is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can contribute to reliable financial reporting, monthly close activities, and process improvements.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities for multiple business entities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity to maintain clean and complete financial records.
• Coordinate key components of the month-end close process and help drive timely completion of reporting deliverables.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including asset capitalization, depreciation tracking, and supporting schedules.
• Produce financial statements and other recurring reports to support leadership decision-making.
• Work closely with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and additional financial analysis as business needs arise.
• Monitor accounting practices across entities to promote alignment with established policies and compliance standards.
• Recommend and support improvements that enhance efficiency within multi-entity accounting workflows.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure account balances are accurate.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including work at a senior or comparable level.
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.
• Strong background in account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet support.
• Experience handling fixed assets, including capitalization and depreciation processes.
• Prior exposure to accounting within a multi-entity environment is strongly preferred.
• Construction industry accounting knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Compensation

$38.00-$44.00 Hourly
