Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a growing organization in South Carolina. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity for a hands-on, detail-oriented candidate who can provide stability and strong financial support in an on-site environment. The company is expanding across multiple locations, making this an excellent role for someone who can manage core accounting activities while adapting to evolving business needs. The position is expected to start next week.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity accurately and preparing routine and adjusting journal entries.
• Handle corporate tax and sales tax processes, including preparing filings and supporting compliance with reporting requirements.
• Assist with the preparation of corporate tax return documentation and organize supporting financial records for review.
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to help ensure accurate month-end and periodic financial reporting.
• Use QuickBooks Desktop to manage accounting transactions and contribute to a smooth transition to QuickBooks Online as needed.
• Support accounting operations across multiple business locations by keeping financial data organized, current, and audit-ready.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role with responsibility for general ledger activity.
• Working knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return support.
• Strong ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks, including QuickBooks Desktop; exposure to QuickBooks Online is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
• Strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities in a changing business environment.

Compensation

$28.50-$33.00 Hourly
