Case Investigation Attorney, Securities Litigation

San Francisco, CA 94111, US Full Time
Compensation: $185 to $225 Yearly

We are looking for an accomplished attorney to join our securities litigation practice in San Francisco, California, with a focus on evaluating and shaping potential matters at the earliest stages. In this role, you will examine market-moving events, public company disclosures, and trading activity to determine whether emerging issues may support claims on behalf of institutional investors. The position is ideal for a lawyer who brings strong litigation judgment, enjoys analytical case development, and is eager to use technology-driven methods to strengthen investigative work.

Responsibilities:
• Assess potential securities matters by examining corporate announcements, regulatory filings, analyst commentary, and other public-source materials.
• Evaluate share-price reactions and corrective events to identify indicators of potentially actionable misstatements or omissions.
• Develop early-stage analyses of loss causation, damages exposure, and potential class period parameters.
• Partner with litigation attorneys, data analysts, and portfolio monitoring professionals to determine which matters merit deeper investigation.
• Conduct focused legal and factual research, including review of comparable enforcement proceedings and related civil actions.
• Work alongside financial experts, investigators, and data specialists to test liability theories and strengthen case assessments.
• Draft internal case evaluations, analytical memoranda, damages summaries, and client-ready materials for institutional investors.
• Apply AI-enabled and data-driven tools to review large datasets, spot meaningful patterns, and improve the efficiency of matter development.
• Contribute strategic insight on sourcing and advancing new claims while helping guide and support less experienced attorneys.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience handling securities litigation matters.
• Strong working knowledge of securities law, securities fraud claims, and litigation strategy.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations and evaluate complex factual records.
• Experience analyzing financial disclosures, market events, and stock-price movement in a litigation context.
• Ability to produce clear written analyses, investigation reports, and persuasive internal memoranda.
• Sound judgment and attention to detail, with the ability to distinguish ordinary market activity from potentially actionable conduct.
• Collaborative approach and comfort working with attorneys, financial experts, investigators, and analytics teams.
• Interest in using technology and advanced analytical tools to enhance case evaluation and workflow efficiency.
